I just had to share this. How have I got this far without roast cauli?
Saw it on tv the other day and decided to try it tonight. My God it is amazing. Please try it...seasoning and olive oil, thin slices, 20mins....wow

The taste is magnificent. I have not yet managed to perfect it though and needed lots of oil to stop it burning. Must try again.

I just break it into florets, give it a good douse in olive oil and then season with sea salt, black pepper, chilli flakes and ground cumin. Roast in a hot oven for around 20 minutes, stirring after 10 minutes.

MarshaBrady · 22/04/2014 22:12

Love it, one of my favourite things.

RiojaHaze · 22/04/2014 22:13

That sounds really good!

Loads of my friends are low-carbing so eat cauliflower rice which is just raw cauliflower blended then cooked in the microwave for a couple of minutes. Haven't tried that but the roasted one sounds better!

BIWI · 23/04/2014 13:30

I make a lovely (if I say so myself Grin) a lovely spicy 'couscous' made with cauliflower

Lottapianos · 23/04/2014 13:37

Glorious isn't it? I often serve it with a curry - roasted with cumin seeds and seasoning. Yum.

LittleLostRoeDeer · 23/04/2014 13:43

I agree, it's amazing. Try it with caraway seeds too. Now that will really change your world.

Janorisa · 23/04/2014 13:44

I love it too. Roasted broccoli is amazing too...

spilttheteaagain · 23/04/2014 14:58

And roasted sprouts!

Mildpanic · 25/04/2014 20:44

I can't wait to try all these new variations. Thank you all.
Will report back.

I make a paste with olive oil, ground cumin, turmeric, powdered garlic, chili powder, nigella seeds and salt. Rub it on the cauliflower florets, roast and voilà!

It is the only way I can eat cauliflower.

funnyoldonion · 29/04/2014 16:33

Oh dear this sounds gorgeous

MrsOomBoomBoom · 06/05/2014 19:46

I'm trying this now, I'm roasting on 180 in fan oven with lots of olive oil, crushed chilli and cumin seeds. Then I'll mix it into my lamb chop curry afterwards and cook for 5 mins before serving. I'll let you know how it goes! Thanks for the inspiration!

MrsOomBoomBoom · 06/05/2014 19:57

Hope I wasnt supposed to parboil them first...

WilsonFrickett · 06/05/2014 20:21

Yep, apart from in a curry with coconut milk, it's the only way to eat a cauliflower! Makes a lovely salad ingredient like this too...

MrsOomBoomBoom · 06/05/2014 20:30

They were hard, not soft. Does everyone parboil them first?

WilsonFrickett · 06/05/2014 21:02

The cauliflower mrs? No but did you chop it into florets? The very thick bits of stalk won't go soft - just because you said 'it' I'm wondering if you tried to roast it whole?

eddielizzard · 06/05/2014 21:04

i chop mine into smaller pieces.

also do it with broccoli, and grate some garlic over too. so delicious!

then pour a cheese sauce over. we have it for supper about once a week. great easy dish.

MrsOomBoomBoom · 06/05/2014 22:36

Grin Grin Grin Grin Wilson at the thought of roasting it whole!

WilsonFrickett · 07/05/2014 09:25

Grin but I can't work out why it was still hard (oo-er)
