Help?
I need to replace my baking tins (cakes and bread) and do not want silicon. Non-stick? Teflon? spring form? loose base? I want to buy ones that will last rather than the cheapest.
Advice will be really great!
Thanks.

What do you like baking?

IMHO the basics are 2 x loose-bottomed sandwich tins, plus bun/cupcake tin and a baking tray.

A larger springform is next on my list of 'must-haves', for larger, wetter cakes.

A brownie tin, swiss roll tin, different sizes of round and square tins are all lovely if they will be used.

In terms of brands/shops - I do really like Lakeland's My Kitchen range. I also quite like Sainsbury's 'naice' range, which often has good deals. Mermaid et al are great, but not sure they're worth the price premium.

Oh - forgot to say - I'd go for a non-stick, and handwash not dishwash.
I'd not buy another NON loose-bottomed sandwich tin.

Sainsburys are great quality. They mostly are loose base these days, irritatingly. You'll find a springform handy for Christmas cake, simnel cake, that sort of thing.

There is nothing that needs to be done in a Springform pan that can't be done in a Loose Bottomed Cake Pan.

Agreed, SHD, but it can save turning out wrangling for large and heavy cakes that is worth the cost!

Rootypig, turning out is easy. Just place the pan on a tin of baked beans and slide the body down, leaving the base (with cake on) sitting atop the tin.

Another vote for the Lakeland "My Kitchen" range

Silverwood tins are WONDERFUL, but if you can't bear to fork out for them, the Lakeland 'My Kitchen' own brand is a very good second, IMHO...9
