BBQ recommendations

Looking to buy a new charcoal BBQ for my DH for his birthday next week. Any recommendations? Budget is prob up to £150 or so. He'll definitely want it to be charcoal, not gas. Looking for something sturdy, relatively weather proof, large enough to cook for parties. Also would quite like ability to smoke meat I think.

I've had a 57cm Weber kettle BBQ for at least 15 years. Lives outside all year under a cover, gets snowed on, rained on and still going strong. Have replaced covers and the grill racks occasionally but the enamelled part seems to be bomb-proof. Big enough to roast a full-size chicken and still have room for some sausages round the sides.

I would also recommend Weber as well, we've had one for years as well.

Just had a quick google and the 57cm one is around £150 at a number of different places eg:-

Just noticed this bit. Something that's designed specially for the Weber bbq is something called the Smokenator.

You can see it here:-

and there's more useful info about using it here:-

However, it is quite expensive and difficult to get hold of in this country. So if you just google ''homemade smokenator'' and it will give you some ideas of how to DIY.
