Agh! Was trying to be organised to save time today. Made big curry in slow cooker yday and left it in a Tupperware uncovered to cool but headed out for dinner with DH and forgot to put it in fridge. Not sure how MIL (babysitting) failed to notice it and put it in fridge but it was still there on the worktop this morning. DH says it'll be fine to eat and has stuck it in the fridge. I'm not convinced. What do you think?

I'd reheat thoroughly and eat it, but I have a cast iron stomach and don't really get upset stomaches!

MsUumellmahaye · 03/04/2014 09:08

i do this all the time, not dead yet :)

somersethouse · 03/04/2014 09:11

What sort of curry is it? Vegetable will be fine.

stuckindamiddle · 03/04/2014 09:15

Chicken and veg. (Free range, expensive chicken too...!! Typical!)

Eat - will be fine!

JRmumma · 03/04/2014 09:20

It will be fine. I do this all the time, although my kitchen is freezing and in the winter probably as cold as the fridge.

pregnantpause · 03/04/2014 09:33

Eat. It'll be fine, I've done it lots.

Foxsticks · 03/04/2014 09:35

I did this last night with my bolognese, I think it will be fine if you nuke it in the microwave when reheating.

isitme1 · 03/04/2014 09:37

It will be fine.
we make lots of curries here and when I was growing up mum would make a curry and leave it out. Obv once the weather gets warmer (I mean proper summer time) that's when she would put them in the fridge.
I put mine in the fridge if I have space if not dh will end up with it next day lol.

Slackgardener · 03/04/2014 09:43

Fine, but I'd eat it today.

BlueChampagne · 03/04/2014 16:13

I'd eat it!

stuckindamiddle · 03/04/2014 17:11

Thanks all! You've convinced me to eat it!!

gamerchick · 03/04/2014 17:14

It'll be fine.

Wasn't curry invented to stop meat going off quick anyway?

stuckindamiddle · 03/04/2014 17:15

Gamer - that was DH's argument...!

gamerchick · 03/04/2014 20:03

missmysexybody · 03/04/2014 20:06

Hmmm dig at MIL even though she babysat for you. Ungrateful.

stuckindamiddle · 03/04/2014 21:54

misssexy - not ungrateful, just thought she might have noticed. She asks to babysit btw.

Im indian curries often left out it will be fine.

missmysexybody · 06/04/2014 15:25

You take MIL up on her kind offer, then slag her off to internet strangers because she didn't correct one of YOUR mistakes. Ungrateful & unkind.

stuckindamiddle · 06/04/2014 15:32

miss - seems only you have a problem with it.

Gosh, if you've nothing better to do then why not spend a few days on mumsnet dishing it out to people criticising their MILs?!

By your book, someone does something helpful for you then you can't ever criticise them. How odd!

Less of the holier than thou please!

Actually I also thought your original post was a bit off.. Maybe next time ask her if you want her to do something?

stuckindamiddle · 06/04/2014 16:43

If I'd remembered to ask her to put it in the fridge I would have just put it in there myself, but I forgot, hence the post!
