I have given green beans and will also give brocolli soon (but afraid it may cause too much wind) ... what else can you all suggest ?

Also, apparently it is ok to feed some fruits in its raw form from 6 months .,.Thing is though, does that mean that you have to resort to pretty much eating whatever they eat in order not to waste the fruit ect ...??? I did try pureeing and freezing apple and pear, but of course , it goes brown . doh !

Mango is good.

Dd loved courgettes from a young age. And pureed french beans.

Spinach? Ds liked broccoli and cauliflower cheese (still does).

Avocado, in small doses, is highly nutritious. Beware green poo though.

FWIW DS1 nearly 3 spat out his first green veggies at 5 months and has been admirably consistent to this day. Won't even eat the speck of herbs that you find in 2 minutes noodles. Strong as an ox though.

my mum advised me to give ds things from the courgette family as first veggies - she said that they are easier to digest and less likely to give baby wind. This was what she had heard and not based on any scientific research but it worked well for ds.

i was told to try cabage but only if your child has the chewing motion ok as it dont blend to a puree
for freezing apple and pear if you find it goes brown add a drop of lemon juice while blending a batch
if you have a food proseser (i find it quicker) peel and core a apple and grate it then add something like custard for a dessert
hope these ideas helps

If you have too much pureeed stuff then you can always put it into ice cube trays and defrost when needed...avocado, leeks, kiwis and many vegetables blended with meat and your evening meal are good ie. if have Shepherd's Pie, can blend it and feed to your baby...unless really acidic as can have very runny stools, pure...

useful to have a sieve to collect the large bits)
