I wouldn't give her milo in a bottle for a start - she'll wind up with no teeth.

Do you eat with her? Does she have any allergies? Did she used to eat and has stopped or has she never been very interested? What does your HV (Plunket nurse?) say?

So many questions.

laikyn my dd was lie this and i took her to a naturopath with paediatric background.
milk was out - it coats the lining of the oesphagus and stomach and quenches appetite.

it was hard but i cut it out of her diet and gradually her appetite increased.

plus ni snacks however good they are until u reach a point where she is absolutely whining for food.

find out her favourite food and work around that for other nutrious things
let her cook with you , that is if you cook and shes around when you are doing it.
cook treats as well as the dinner, then work the treats into an after dinner thing.
and put more on her plate than necessary and work to getting her eat half the plate.
start with getting her just to taste it and if shes had enough dont force it. its you who'll end up upset and worried. i did for long enough.

this could take a few months but as long as u long at her dietary intake over a week not a day, then she prob will and is getting adequate food balance.

does she eat fruit? my dd is now a fabulous eater, and i mean it when i say she was atroicuous. last ngiht it was sticky mango chicken and rice, and when i said ok you have loads , she said no i will have one more spoonful, shes 4 this oct. and her appetite decreased around 13mths until 2 1/2yrs old.

so dont fret as long as u can be consistent with encouraging good healthy eating, treats after an adequate intake of food, and trying not to give junk even thou i know its hard, she will come round.

laikyn reduce her lunch amount.
and look at over a week not a day, you might surprse yourself in how much she eats.

hermykne · 07/08/2006 08:42

i thought milo was a milk typo
what is it?

laikyn · 07/08/2006 09:02

she has this dairy free choclate stuff my mother found it in a heath shop its go no dairy init i dont know what it is called i have run out of it .
some times i give her a cooked meal for lunch cos i know she prob wont eat it for dinner .
other times laikyn has lunchon on bread or something like that she wont eat any fruit not even the sweet ones .

Do you mean you are giving her the dairy free chocolate stuff instead of milo - but calling it milo?

If she is eating breakfast and lunch then I wouldn't stress about her not eating at 5.30.

laikyn · 07/08/2006 09:30

yes i do it smells kinda the same
