To start we have Tandoori Prawns with a salad. Do 4 prawns for each of you as this is a starter and use two skewers. The salad should be presented on the plate with a few lettuce leaves, some onion rings, 1/2 a tomato cut into wedges and a few slices of beetroot. Arrange this on the plate and place the prawns still on their skewer over the top. Garnish with a little chopped fresh coriander and put a 1/4 of a lemon by the side. Have a pot of cool plain yoghurt on the table and encourage your guest to pour a little over their prawns. A light white wine is suitable as for any fish dish.

I like chicken on skewers with a peanut sauce (which I always have at my favourite Thai). No recipe for it though

soup?

bhajia, shish kebabs, jeera chicken, pappadums, aloo chat, spciy prawns on salad or puris, tandoori chicken chunks on salad, or tikka lamb/chicken on salad.

thanks everyone, can't do satay as ds is allergic to nuts so even though he's not eating with us it's a bit too risky.

Tandoori prawn salad sounds great ,will look into that.

There's a lovely simple salad with rocket and mango with a chilli and coriander dressing that I made a while ago (from one of the Jamie Oliver books). Really simple, v tasty and not heavy before curry, rice etc. I'll check it for you if you like

would say either samosas and onion bhajis or blimey name has gone of those things that you use dips with..ermmm popadoms?
