What do you reckon, appealing or not?
I bought it and look forward to trying it, as I think oats taste far nicer than wheat.

I think it sounds great, I'll look out for it.

Tutter · 31/07/2006 11:45

yes, i'd try it. read recently that our bodies find it far easier to bvreak down oats than wheat. so - weetabix good for long distanc runners, oatibix better for lazy gits like me

MarsLady · 31/07/2006 11:46

sounds interesting. Will also look out for it.

foxinsocks · 31/07/2006 11:47

I would def try it (and would prob get the kids to have it too)

southeastastra · 31/07/2006 11:48

Northerner · 31/07/2006 11:48

They taste just like Weetabix but soak up the milk at a right rate!!!

suejonez · 31/07/2006 11:51

Has anyone tried them?

I saw them in the supermarket at the weekend but wasn't sure what the difference was between them and Weetabix. Didn't think about the small clue in the name - duh!

schneebly · 31/07/2006 11:52

mm fancy trying these!

psychomum5 · 31/07/2006 11:59

ahhhh....these would be good in our house.

youngest has to avoid wheat, but can eat oats we have found, this may be ideal for him.

mind you.....not read anywhere the ingrediants so may still be unsuitable.

does anyone have some that they can write the list down so I am able to see please? do most shopping on-line and so not always easy to check new stuff. go for the things I know normally!

TIA

we got the apple and sultana ones, they're really nice. Bit cinnamon-y if you like that sort of thing? Might get the plain ones for ds.

emkana · 01/08/2006 11:23

Tastes very similar to weetabix, but quite nice.
Nicer consistency once all the milk is soaked up, IMO.

OP posts:
cremolafoam · 01/08/2006 11:25

saw the oatbix this am. and thought they looked good. do you think they might taste more porridgey?

emkana · 01/08/2006 11:26

They do taste a bit porridgey once it's gone to mush.

OP posts:
cremolafoam · 01/08/2006 11:27

wonder if they would be a good alternative for wheat intolerant people

emkana · 01/08/2006 11:28

I think so, they only contain oats, barley, sugar and salt. (But not too much of the last two)

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 01/08/2006 11:41

they're ok - tasty but not that great, but then again I'm not a big fan of weetabix.

the "malted barley extract" isn't actual barley cereal grains - it's basically barley syrup, hence sugary

CorrieDale · 01/08/2006 21:00

They tasted incredibly sweet to me. Far sweeter than you'd think from the amount of sugar in them. Might be a good thing if you like sweet cereal.

geekgrrl · 01/08/2006 21:02

I like them - so do the children. Very good ingredients list, too.
Don't do well with cereals for breakfast though - always leave me starving an hour later.

milge · 03/08/2006 20:25

£2.09 for 24 biscuits in my local Tesco - I think I'll be sticking to tesco own brand weetabix at 79p!
