What are your best homemade treats for lunch boxes?

They have to be robust enough to be carried round all day in a bag that gets thrown to the ground several times during the day. e.g. DS (yr8)complains that my homemade fruitcake is just crumbs by the time he wants to eat it!

My most successful bake is oat and raisin cookies. Does anyone have other ideas?

This is in Tupperware Dancing. DS cares far more about his food than he does about being embarrassed Smile

I really struggle with muffins - they stick to the paper and you end up with more muffin stuck to the paper than you get in the muffin. Any tips gratefully received.

I try to avoid chocolate because of the over warm classrooms but flapjack and shortbread are worth a try, thank you.

I make muffins in a silicone tray, so no paper cases needed, I keep them in the freezer for freshness. Broken up cakes is not a complaint I hear very often from my dcs - currently they have a choice of raspberry Friands or toffee cake, they also like gingerbread men, chewy American style cookies, lemon cake, banana cake etc. I have so many different plastic tubs I usually find something of similar size to the piece of cake/ cookie.

I make rock cakes. They are dead easy and the kids love them.

Ah rock cakes, similar but more sturdy that fruit cake, Thank you

I've been thinking of investing in a silicone ray Snowdown. How good are they? Do muffins really come out cleanly?
