Good Mexican food cookbooks or blogs?

I made sopa de fideos - sort of thick, tasty pasta tomato soup - for the first time last night and really enjoyed it.

Anyone got any recommendations for Mexican cookbooks or blogs I can be inspired by?

Mexican Food Made Easy, by Thomasina Miers. It's absolutely brilliant!
We had it as one of the Cookery Bookclub books, it was a big hit, here
hth :)

Muchos gracias, Huevos - looks perfect.

I just bought her newer cook book. Had actually never heard of her so good to know her last book was popular, hoping this one will be as good.

If anyone is after the latest one Boots have it in their 70% off sale so it was £4 something.

Now going to go see if I can get that Made Easy one too.

Envy she's not on iTunes, last time I checked, and ordering from abroad is mucho expensive from where I am. Not even worth asking a friend to send it as most things never arrive.

HuevosRancheros · 18/01/2014 07:58

Sorry, it's "Made Simple", not "easy"
:)

I came to suggest Thomasina- Mexican food at home and Mexican food made simple, both really good cookbooks. As huevos said we did cover the made simple to much praise in cook book club. The corn on the cob is the only way to eat corn IMO.

It's a good book. The tortilla soup is utterly delicious - one of my favourite soups ever, and I eat a lot of soup!

pregnantpause · 18/01/2014 08:34

ooh, the tortilla soup IS wonderful. I'll have to make it again now you've reminded meGrin

Another one popping in with Mexican Food made simple....'twas fab, need another trip up to the Smoke for Wahaca now.

HighVoltage · 18/01/2014 13:15

Thanks everyone, sounds pretty categorical that's the one for us. Looking forward to a new way to do corn on the cob!

OO, I am another that loves Tomasina Miers, her 2 books and Wahaca !

Adora - am sure you know of it already, but www.bookdepository.co.uk/ do free worldwide delivery, and often have really good sales etc on.

AdoraBell · 18/01/2014 19:02

Thanks Hazel but the buggers here slap a hefty delivery charge on books, if they allow it through having Opened the package To check it doesn't fall under the wide heading of Educational Material.

I'll make do with what she's published in mags and newspapers, and the web site úntil I can send DH on a round the world tríp, To see his parents of courseWink arrange a trip to the UK.

Pantah630 · 18/01/2014 19:06

Adora do you have a Kindle or Kindle app on iPad?
I've got Mexican made Simple on mine, and lots more cookbooks where DH can't complain about the groaning shelves

AdoraBell · 18/01/2014 19:27

I have an iPad, will look into the kindle app, Thank you.
