Quick gravy for sausage and mash?

I think I used to use Bisto instant with a fried onion, but as it contained gluten had to stop once ds went gluten free. Does anyone know any easy quick cheats? Can substitute thickening flour for gluten free flour. Thanks!

Thicken gravy with a bit of mashed potato (or inside of roasted). Use as you would flour i.e. mix potato with a little liquid bisto and then mix this into rest of bisto. Super simples!

you can get gluten free gravy

another one

cant you just make your own gravy with no bisto ie pour the water from the potato into the fry pan, deglaze and then reduce by rapid boiling or thicken with cornflour which is normally gluten free.

You can use cornflour to thicken it. I just mix a spoonful of flour in with the onion until there are no lumps, then add stock which reduces down to a gravy.

Bisto Best instant is gluten free. Comes up nice and thick.

Add in a spoonful of onion relish Grin

I have tried using a beef stock cube and a little corn flour-I think the result was ok but perhaps just takes a little practise. It also lacked colour but I suppose I was raised on Bisto! I wimped out tonight and made wedges instead!

I'm quite an ok home cook but not too confident with very traditional meat and veg! Thanks for the replies-might try an instant gravy again that is gluten free-the Anthony WT one wasn't that nice last time I tried! But orgran stuff is quite good.

I use the Knorr stock pots, they give a lovely rich gravy
