Packed lunches; but long lasting packed lunches

DD needs to pack a lunch on Friday night for Sunday lunch & tea; it won't be kept in the fridge

Any suggestions what she can take?

Have you got an insulated lunch box?
Yoghurt tubes freeze well, and act as icepacks.
Crackers
Biscuits/individual cake slices
Wrapped, individual cheese (like babybel)
Tubes of primula cheese / fish paste (from the store cupboard shelve, not the fridge)
Look by the tins of tuna, they do tuna-pasta salad things that don't need cooling.
Tin of sardines and a fork.
Drinks!

I'd just do some picky stuff: olives, oatcakes or a baguette, cherry toms, whole avocado (with a knife to cut open & a spoon to scoop out), packet of crisps, banana, flapjack....

Those tuna lunch things are pretty nice imo. Or the little weightwatchers tins of tuna n sweetcorn are ok and could be put in a roll as and when.

If you decant some peanut butter into a little tub, she can spread it on oatcakes or ricecakes.

Then mini cheddars, flapjack, crisps, pot of jelly, custard pot

Will she have access to a kettle at all? That would give her a hot meal of rice noodles in soup (the Heinz soup concentrate is really nice imo)

I do sesame ryvita spread with peanut butter when i am in this situation.

Nope no kettle & I'd worry about dairy 36-42 hours out of a fridge even if frozen....at least I think I would (I'll have an experiment maybe) & a baguette would be horrid stored for that long I think

She does have those tuna salads, custard, jelly, rice pudding, cake, crisps, smoothies, milk shakes - but I wanted more choice

I'll suggest peanut butter/cheese/avocado & bits

She gets so hungry - & a packed breakfast & lunch on Saturday plus a packed lunch & tea on Sunday with no cooking facilities on Sat/Sun is so hard to manage, never mind making it interesting Hmm

Is there a Tesco express or food shop she could access on the way to class on the Sunday to get some hummus/ potato salad /ham or whatever?

A baguette would be yuck, but a packet of flatbreads or soft rolls would be fine. Experiment with making calzone, freezing them and then packing in a cool bag with a frozen couple of juice cartons as edible ice blocks. Savoury muffins should work well done like that too

I'll check what time the local tesco opens; my worry is tho' that a wrap, a pasta pot, a caken crisps & a drink would be more tempting & that'll cost me £7-8 quid Shock

Avocado
Banana
Nuts/ seeds
Butter and marmite to put in roll ( butter is fine out, most people keep out in butter dish)
Cherry tomatoes/ mange tout/ baby corn
Tangerines

A selection of things is a good idea
Brioche rolls
Soreen (fruit) loaf
Fruit bars
Dried fruit
Oatcakes
Bread with little pots of jam/peanut butter/honey
Apples
