Dairy free suggestions?

Good friends of mine are away on honeymoon at the moment and I thought it would be a nice idea if I could have a meal prepared for them in their fridge when they return from their long haul flight.

However one of them is on a dairy free diet so bang goes my idea of a nice home made lasagne followed by cheesecake or similar.

Any suggestions please, also to include some sort of dessert?

Hi, my brother is vegan so feel your pain! But once you get your head round it promise it's not too daunting. DM makes a lovely veggie lasagne, just uses soya milk and spread (pure is the brand.... Just with all the other sunflower spreads) for the cheese sauce? Works really well
And check this out for fab deserts

Thanks monkey. Off out now to buy both the milk and Pure. Will it just be where the butters and spreads are located?

Sorry, just realised you already told me where the Pure would be! Is there such a thing as a dairy free cheese?

No problem, yes it's just by flora normally, called soya spread.... The sunflower one is the nicest.
Yes there is, but it's a bit odd tasting, you can get it in Holland and Barret? DB has it without normally, but may be worth a little sprinkle

I'm lactose intolerant and whilst the soya milk is OK in coffee, I don't think it really works well in other dishes. I'd have gone with a nice rich casserole, maybe followed by a fruit crumble. Avoid dairy and dairy-like things completely.

Dairy-free cheese looks like cheese but tastes like nothing at all. Don't waste your money.

I find cooking with oat milk (Oatly) better than soya milk.

Could you not do a spag Bol instead? Then no dodgy replacement cheese sauce (I have yet to taste one that is yummy) ?

And you could make chocolate brownies with stork in the gold wrapper and use coco powder and dairy free chocolate if you want choc chips in it.

Thanks all. Got plenty of ideas now from you all.
