Brunch for a crowd ideas - made by a lazy person

So... I'm toying with the idea of having a brunch get together for some friends on the Sunday before the kids go back to school. They are away for the NY, so I thought it would be a nice idea.

There will probably about 15 adults and 10 children, and I have a v small house! So it needs to simple, easy and prepare ahead as possible.

My ideas so far are :

loads of pastries from costco
bloody mary / juice for kids
smoked salmon / brown soda bread
bacon and sausages
scrambled eggs

what do you think? Any ideas really welcome. Is a brunch a naff idea in the first place?

Bacon butties please all and can be eaten standing around.

I think less choices would be easier, surely sausage or bacon sandwiches would suit everyone? Make / get some nice onion chutney for the sausages.

Great idea. I love brunch!! I'd probably change the bacon and sausages to a big fruit salad with yogurt on the side. Can prepare the night before as well.

Sausage/bacon and vege sausages!

Pastries
Bloody Mary and Bucks Fizz
Platters of sliced continental meats and sausages
Platters of cheese, also sliced/divided into portions
Selection of bread

If you want something fishy, a dish of smoked salmon pâté with some blinis.
For something hot, a tray of mini pigs in blankets and devils on horseback.

Making bacons, sausages and scrambled eggs for that many people will be a bit tricky. I'd go for a continental type thing:

cold sliced meats, salami
sliced swiss style cheeses
dishes of cubed feta with chopped tomato and red onion, drizzled in olive oil, some olives.
smoked salmon
scandi-style marinated cucumbers in dill, chopped hard boiled egg, chopped red onion, capers, etc. All easy to prepare in advance, no need to cook.
Croissants, a selection of nice rustic breads and danish pastries or muffins
Strawberries, melon, maybe Bircher muesli

Bucks Fizz and Bloody Marys

Feta would be weird

It's what the Greeks and Turks and Middle Eastern countries would eat for breakfast or brunch! It's lovely with chunky bread, olives, tomatoes and chopped onion etc.

I'm just trying to think of different international/continental themes that are easy to do and cater to a range of tastes.

I know. Just odd here

kedgeree is easy

Bacon sandwiches, muffins for the kids, fresh fruit and greek yoghurt with honey, loads of fresh coffee and tea, cheap fizz with orange juice, bloody Mary's good too! Keep the selection small otherwise you'll go crazy.

pastries, fruit salad, bacon butties. All things that can be eaten standing up. Scrambled egg is just too difficult to eat unless sitting at a table with knife and fork.

We host a big brunch for friends each year in summer, sausage and bacon rolls are always the most popular items. Blueberry muffins also go down well, as does Bucks Fizz Smile

Hope you have a lovely time.
