I do not trust my baking skills and always buy Christmas pudding. This year however I didn't as I knew we had one already. Best before date December 2012!!!
Looks ok, smells ok, had a nibble and is ok if maybe a tad dry.
Would you serve it to the family? I don't mind if it isn't the nicest they've ever had but don't want to make anyone ill.

It will be fine, and probably more moist after an hour or two steaming tomorrow.

As long as it's not mouldy it should be fine. If you are worried that it has dried out a bit, gently poke some holes in it with a skewer or knitting needle, and drizzle on some brandy/sherry/whiskey, so that it soaks in to the pudding.
As it is Christmas Eve, you had better consumer test whatever you are going to soak the pudding in, just to make sure it is suitable. This is known as "cooks perks" here, and is a tradition!

I imagine it won't make anyone ill , if, as already said, it isn't mouldy, but I personally would bin it. That's significantly out of date, can't imagine it will be the best and IMO, there is only so much that can be done to make it more palatable.

Thanks all. As amistillsexy thought the steaming made it much more palatable. Tasted absolutely fine and so far there are no dicky tummies.

Maybe next year I'll dive in and attempt my own?
