The heating element has gone on our oven and I cant find anywhere that sells a replacement other than ordering online? Does anyone know of anywhere?

If not does anyone have any suggestions how I could do a decent xmas dinner using a convention oven/microwave, hobs and slow cooker. My mind is blank with the stress. I have barely used the microwave oven, i did once try to do roast potatoes in it but they did not crisp at all.

meat in convection oven/microwave, veg on hob, roasties - cut smaller and do in a frying pan or fat fryer.....

  1. Try an online store and see if they'll courier it to you to arrive Tuesday. They're easy to fit, try searching for a how-to video on YouTube. We did ours (Hotpoint oven) in about 20mins last month.
  1. Watch the new Nexus7 ad which has a couple who break their oven door on Christmas Day and end up doing the turkey on a BBQ Smile

Is it a double oven? Have you still got a working grill? How about gratin potatoes?

Oh no OP-this is my fear, as our burn out every 12 months or so, we must have a fault in the oven and have 1 more element to use and after that it will be a new oven for us.

Pink Cheese is right- we have bought elements locally from electrical shops that make and repair white goods, although cost £20-£30. We have also bought via amazon and spares2go I think, cost less than £10. You could message them and see if you can get it couriered, and you tube have loads of tutorials showing how to change them. it was surprisingly easy and took 10 mins. I hope you get it sorted. If not could you do pan fried chicken breasts wrapped in bacon/pancetta etc? With veg cooked on the hob?

Go to a small independent spares shop, they usually have them in stock but don't have websites so you have to phone them or go to the shop.
If you post your area I'm sure somebody will know a localish shop.

If is an Electrolux oven then It might be worth buying two elements as they don't tend to last very long and always seem to go when you need the oven most.
