I've bought some tesco thai breaded chicken skewers from the Xmas party food range. dS. Is taking them to school for Xmas party tomorrow.
My question is: are they raw or cooked?! It is hard to tell! And the "cooking" instructions are just "put in oven at 190 degrees for 12-14 mins", which seems more like a "reheat" kind of instruction to me.
If I've bought that kind of stuff before it's to eat hot straight out the oven. Which obviously they can't so in school - they're going to be eaten cold.
I HAVE got them in the oven as I type as i dont wat to risk them being eaten raw
. i will store them in the fridge overnight but I'm going to worry now that they were already cooked and then chilled when bought and now they're going to be heated then chilled AGAIN and in my head all the children who eat them tomorrow are going to go home with food poisoning.
Why don't I know the answer to this?! I am a perfectly capable cook and know about food hygiene. But I'm a thicko on this one - I was hoping the ingredient list on the pack would say "cooked chicken" or "raw chicken" but it just says "chicken".
