Sunday dinner alternative

This is the first thread I have started so please be nice.

Our family, my sister, her husband and young children and my husband and myself normally go to my parents for Sunday dinner. Next week we are going to have something different but my hubby is veggie, my bil does not eat wheat and the food needs to be child friendly. Has anybody got any ideas what could eat?

Various roast veg and sausages / veggie sausages. Extremely tasty and no fuss to do.

Last time I think I did sweet potatoes, parsnips and sprouts (trimmed, halved, salt, pepper and balsamic. Delicious enough to convert lifelong-sprout-hating-DP)

That would be lovely but my ds and bil go to my parents for dinner mid week and usually have sausages and mash potatoes ect.

Sprouts are a bit of a issues. We all hate them but my ds loves them.

DC here love sprouts, but only raw Hmm Weird children. I'm on the fence about them as a general rule and DP has always despised them. They are honestly fantastic roasted.

But, yeah, there are plenty of veg you can roast and you obviously serve anything you like with them.

Fish pie? But, your DP probably doesn't eat fish... Erm, mushroom risotto? possibly?

Gluten free pasta is surprisingly good and pasta always goes down well with veggies and kids...it's a no brainier! Not very thrilling but sometimes when families get together that's not important. Other ideas for fussy families - fry up/all day breakfast, Mexican tacos, fajitas etc, burgers...veggies are fine and gluten free just goes bun less. Sausage and mash with onion gravy.

Try a lebanese menu. Or a greek one. Or an italian one. Or an indian.
You know, think of a theme.

I would have thought a curry would be easy.

Thanks for all your lovely ideas. We are a bit fussy when combined.
