not sure really, wrap it in tinfaiol with a little butter????

thats my best guess
I'd wait for someone who really knows

I'd cook it first then razz it about on the barbecue. Not that I've ever done it like that - but I have tried roasting it with other vegetables in the oven and it was very dried out (not unpleasant though, it intensifed the flavour - kids wouldn't eat it though, they said it was burnt). I ramble...someone who knows what they are talking about will no doubt come along in a minute.

someone told me that you have to soak them a bit in water first then just straight on the bbq - haven't tried it myself though!!

marthamoo · 19/07/2006 19:03

Or you could do it on skewers, cut into smaller chunks (you need very strong wrists to chop up sweetcorn though) with mushrooms, courgettes, red onions etc and some kind of marinade?

TheBlonde · 19/07/2006 19:04

Boil it first then shove on the BBQ to finish it off

Coolmama · 19/07/2006 19:06

you can do it two ways - either way, it might be best to parboil for a bit first until you decide how best you like to do it -

  • parboil until almost tender and then place on BBQ, turning often - this method will give you a slightly blackened appearance, but tastes really barbeque-ie or wrap in tinfoil and smeared with butter - can be done on the grill, but this method works best if you can shove them into the coals of the BBQ - play around and see what you like best! -

I just bunged them straight on the bbq grill, and made sure I turned them regularly, they do get a bit blackened, but like coolmama says that makes them more bbq-e! Then serve with melted butter - yum

Boil for 10 mins, whack a lump of butter on, wrap with foil and shove onthe BBQ. Lovely.

we just stick 'em straight on, after the husks have been removed. do it at the beginning as they take a while.
