Fruit from damson gin

This year I've tried making damson gin for the first time (well, it may be sloe gin, I wasn't too sure on the identification). It's been soaking for three months, and I've decanted it today (hic) . I have a load of leftover fruit and don't know what to do with it. I've already made a (boozy) Christmas cake. Any other ideas?

I stuck ours in the christmas pudding.

Boozy apple and damson crumble?

if they are damsons, you can fold the fruit through whipped cream and custard mixture to make a lovely boozy fool. Wouldn't really bother with sloes for that as they are so mouth-puckeringly sour. My DM made some divine sloe gin jsm with the leftover soaked fruit last year, maybe try that if you're not sure which you've got Smile

That is JAM, obviously, not jsm. Stupid me phone Angry

I've never tried to make jam before, don't you need to know what you are doing stuff like a sugar thermometer? The crumble sounds nice, would I need to keep it away from the children though,or would cooking it somehow magic away the alcohol?

We covered gin-soaked damsons in chocolate one year to make VERY boozy liqueur chocolates! Were quite tasty!

jam is dead easy, just boil it like mad and keep a saucer or two in the freezer to test the set. Drip a little bit of jam onto the plate and if it wrinkles when you push your finger through it, it's ready to bottle
