Questions re cooking ham

I am cooking ham for the first time for a pre Xmas dinner. I've bought one that doesn't need soaking/boiling etc, just needs 2 hours in the oven. However, I've just realised we won't be home in time. Can I cook it that morning (or nite before) then put the glaze on and reheat it an hour or so before we eat? Or will it get dry? And if so, how would I do that - cook for the full 2 hours, cool, refrigerate, then reheat with glaze? Bit clueless as am vegetarian... Thanks

I now bequeath to you my failsafe Xmas Ham method. Boil the thing for the time stipulated on the packet and then leave it in the cooking water to cool until you want to glaze it. (If you do it the night before, leave it to go cold in the water then drain and pop in the fridge.) When you're ready add your glaze and blast it in a hottish oven for 15-20 mins or a bit longer if it was in the fridge. Result... very moist ham with a nice outside.

That's brill thanks Cogito, but this I one that's already been boiled and just has oven directions??!! I bought in m&s because I thought it would save time. It says to roast for 2hrs 15mins. Can I boil instead per your method? Am totally clueless about meat preparation...

If it is pre boiled then just follow instruction, which I presume are put on glaze and cook for the 2 hrs. Oh and yes you can absolutely cook it the night before or morning of.

If it says 'roast for 2 hours' it's raw, not cooked already.
