Weight of apples in a recipe... urgent!

Am just about to make Nigella's Christmas Chutney and forgot that every year I have the same dilemma. The recipe calls for "750g apples, peeled, cored & chopped". Would you think that means 750g of whole apples which you then peel & core, or does it mean 750g once they have been cored?

750g after coring.

i think it means after the've been cored

I would think before. But I can't pretend to speak with any authority.

Thank you! I'll go with after and see if I think it's too appley or ntop appley enough - and then will write in the cookbook which it's supposed to be :)

I would think 750g of whole apples that you then peel etc.

I think it would say "750g peeled, cored and chopped apple" if it demanded 750g of prepared apple.

I was thinking that if it were whole weight it would say "750g apples" in the ingredients and then tell you to peel & core them in the method part...

Where is Lynne Truss (Eats, Shoots & Leaves) when you need her? I think that the fact there is a comma after the750gm apples would indicate that you take 750gms apples, then peel, core and chop them.
