Cooking for seven friends including a coeliac and a vegan, pick a menu?

Either:-

More of a buffet type thingy, different dishes to choose from. Stuffed Yellow Peppers with Pilau Rice, Currants and Toasted Pine Nuts, roasted tomaotes, roasted red potatoes with red onion and red wine vinegar and green salad

or

A vegetable tagine served with couscous with nuts, raisins and spices.

I think pudding will be a ginger wine jelly made with agar-agar.

All comments and suggestions welcome.

I'm a vegetarian but not a vegan and a real bread lover and know with either of these i would want lovely bread, can you get good gluten free bread or could i make the recipe below with gluten free flour

I like both but think the first sounds amazing (and you know a coeliac can't eat couscous I assume). Also bear in mind wheat is in so many places you might not guess as easily like soya sauce not that you're probably using that.

I would make your bread recipe with normal flour as I'm afraid I've tried so many recipes and don't think my non-gluten free friends would appreciate my bread in the same way as when made with wheat. But your gluten-free friend would I'm sure be so touched if you bought her her own GF ciabatta instead? (I'm always so touched if anyone has thought of something like that as 99% of the time I just have to make do without).
You sound a kind friend and very good cook!

Ps the loaf I've liked best had actually been a Mrs Krimble gluten free bread mix- our Tesco had it a month or two ago and as gluten free bread goes it's good and quite quick

The freefrom white Pita bread from Tesco is the best I've ever tasted.

My experience with gluten free flour hasn't been very good, the bread all tasted like sawdust.
Cakes were a bit better, esp with xantham gum.

I would go for the buffet type meal, with humous, vegetable spread and free from fake philadelphia with herbs (yum), rice, the peppers or some sort of spicy vegetable curry and some pudding.

(can I come? Grin)
