In what form can I freeze raspberries?

I have lots and would like to freeze some for some time in the future when I want to make a posh pudding or something.

Should I make a sweetened puree and freeze them like that?

Any other bright ideas?

I think you can just freeze them as they are.

You can stick them straight into a freezer bag and freeze them - they don't go mushy when you defrost them.

I would open freeze them - one layer on a tray, then when frozen bag them up or put in a plastic box to keep in the freezer, This way when they defrost they are a better shape, if you want to eat them as 'fresh'

frozen raspberries are yummy! just like candy

I suppose you could throw a handful of frozen raspberries into a smoothie, couldn't you? Mmmm

I open freeze them. It helps them to remain the right shape on defrosting

I absolutely agree with PandaG - my mum has millions in her garden...far too many for us all to eat, try as we do! She freezes them on a baking tray (metal one) all separate and then dumps them in tubs when solid. Defrost in same way...spread out on tray. They are then beautiful...hold their shape etc. Much better than strawbs as a lower water content.

We freeze our excess raspberries in freezer bags. Then just defrost them and heat gently (with a little sugar if needed) and pour over ice cream -delicious

another thing youcan do is put them is a kilner jar, sprinkle with some sugar and pour over some vodka.

Keep in the dar for a few months, turn it every now and then, and you will end up with beautiful rasperry liquer and boozy raspberries!

Oh! Raspberry gin or vodka - of course, why didn't I think of that! I do blackberry gin and sloe gin every year. Doh! Thanks for the thought!

I am going to freeze these and make liqueurs out of the next batch that ripens.

Then next week with the next lot I am going to make some kind of raspberry cream cake as a present for ds's teachers.
