Omelette in oven?

Had some cabbage from yesterday (shop bought side dish) and beat 3 eggs and some cheese in it. I can never get an omelette out of a pan so decided to be adventurous and poured the mixture into a foil tin container. Will I regret it when I open the oven?

No, I told DS (9) to cook himself some dinner the other night and he made an oven omelette. It would have been really nice apart from the fact that he added about half a pound of butter to the mix (at least it didn't stick to the dish!).

Ohh, so fancy then! Even doing streaky bacon on the side so I can arrange the two slices slivers on top.

Sadly it didn't quite work out. The round tin was too small in diameter hence too deep. The middle was not done even after good 20 mins!and the sides were starting to brown:

Had to tip it over on the pan. Maybe another 5/10 mins would have sorted but I was hungry and didn't 'to want to burn the sides. Ended up with baked scrambled eggs.
Bext time,more shallow tin.

that would make it a frittata! delicious, but as you say, need to use a slightly bigger pan to get even cooking.
