PRESSURE COOKER DISASTER

OK. So today I made 2 Christmas puddings - a 1lb and a 2lb. Plan was to steam them in the pressure cooker this evening and them freeze them in the morning before we go away.

The pressure cooker is no longer keeping pressure. the small one boiled dry and melted the plstic basin. We thought we'd just not put enough water in so started to steam the big one and realised that it's just releasing a jet of steam out of a valve.

Given that I REALLY don't want to start an 8hr steam right now - which would go through to 5am, can I freeze the puddings as they are and then steam them next week when we can be around for 8hrs?

Or plan C, start an old fashioned steam at 11 pm, bang on bedtime, with loads of extra water, and hook out at 7 a.m.?

And I doubt freezing would do them any harm if you'd rather wait until you've fixed the pressure cooker.

I like plan C...

Please don't steam them overnight, it is a huge fire risk. Pop them in the freezer and sort out when you return.

If the worst is that you have to remake in a week, as annoying as that is, at least you will all be safe.

Going with option D... They will be frozen in the morning. Might eat the small one before Xmas to see if its survived - and if not go and buy one!

Thanks for your help!
