What is a 'semi-dried tomato'?

Sorry, that's it, really. Not in UK so it might be 'all the rage' over there Grin

This recipe suggests them, but I don't know what they are. Are they the same thing as sundried tomatoes in a jar?

Thanks.

Yes, it's the same thing as sundried tomatoes (or if there's a subtle difference, it wouldn't matter for the purpose of this particular recipe) Smile

Wetter than a sun dried tomato. Drier than a wet tomato.

It's a sun dried tomato for the impatient.

They're also called sunblush tomatoes in the UK.
Usually in the fridge in the deli section rather than in jars, which are usually the sundried ones.
Less intense a flavour than sundried, I prefer them.

They are relatively easy to make yourself, if you have the inclination.
Halve a load of ripe tomatoes, place in a baking tray. Sprinkle over crushed garlic, oregano or thyme, a little salt and some olive oil. Bake in a very low oven for a couple of hours; they should be a bit shrivelled, but still soft. Taste gorgeous :). And they will store in the fridge for a while if you dover them in olive oil

They are also a more pleasant texture!
