Can you give me some inspiration, or it's going to be Dominos pizza.

Steak and chips!

Roast Chicken, Baked Potatoes, Vegetables (of your choice) and bread sauce made from a packet. Something easy like crumvle and custard for pudding and you'll be set Smile

mrspremise · 21/09/2013 13:17

obviously I mean crumble, no idea what crumvle is Blush

Nothing wrong with Dominos Smile

Prawn and chilli risotto with fresh bread and lots of wine followed by shop bought meringue, berries and creme fresh.

Roast chicken is a good idea, I was going to suggest that. Everyone loves it, it practically cooks itself, especially with jacket potatoes.

I have no idea where you'd start with making a crumvle Wink

Just don't mess up the custard and have your MIL catch you in the kitchen trying the sieve the lumps out.

That's all I'm saying...

It doesn't work either, bastard lumps reform on the other side of the sieve. I actually cried when they left.

Ifyou are stuck for time, buy the pud and put the effort into the main course.

Thanks all. I have been rather lame, I have been to M&S and got easy stuff. I feel that praline ganache tart and a large quantity of fizz will make up for many shortcomings. I will focus my efforts on being a fabulous host rather than cooking.

Great idea - hosting is not just about the food - better you are relaxed and good company. Enjoy!
