Low(er) calorie lunch ideas?

Any good ideas for lunches (packed or quick) that would be low ish in calories? I suppose I'm thinking of avoiding or limiting bread. What would be filling? More protein? Thanks.

Home made soups and vegetable stews.

What facilties do you have - fridge? microwave?

Fridge okay for home days (I'm part time). And we're getting a microwave with our new kitchen soon. Yes, autumn-wintery soups will be good (although I'll want to dip buttered bread in them!).

I've cracked down on my lunches in the last few months, and have lost 6kg (also with exercise and general increased carefulness). Before I often used to scoff half a baguette with shitloads of cheese and/or paté for my lunch, plus copious amounts of biscuits - something had to change!

Now I generally have a big bowl of vegetable-type soup, three Wasa fibre crackers with either cream cheese and ham, or humous, and a couple of jaffa cakes. Plus a piece of fruit.

Partly because it's all easy to buy at the supermarket near work, keep in the office fridge and put together in work kitchen. At the moment the kitchen at home is in a state of disrepair, but I also made brown rice salads (with loads of veg in) and weighed amounts pasta dressed with loads of ratatouille as packed lunches to take in.

Great, thanks. I need something substantial (as I don't have breakfast), so hearty soup probably best. I've just made some quinoa 'burgers' tonight, which will be nice cold, so might try that sort of thing. Bread fills me up, but it's so temporary. I'll look up wasa fibre crackers now!

Ah, they look good. Much lower calorie than bread but should be filling. Thanks.

A slice of rye bread with ham and poached eggs is good.

Four Ryvita with peri peri half fat humous from Tesco. Thinly sliced avo on top. I use a third of a small tub of humous and a quarter of an avo each lunch.
Salad leaves, tomatoes, olives, avo, proscuitto, basil, balsamic vinegar. If you are still hungry add a handful of almonds.

When I was sticking to a low calorie diet Tuna on Ryvita was my lunch of choice.
Personally I like the black pepper ryvitas & I found the mini cans of tuna in spring water (rather than brine or oil) mixed with a little extra light salad cream or mayo was the lowest calorie version.

Another lunch I would have was raw carrot, pepper and cucumber sticks with green pesto or garlic and herb cream cheese to dip in.

Also veg soups as others have suggested. I always tend to find I want buttered bread with the more creamy soups (eg leek & potato) which is doubly bad!
But I could live without the bread with more veggy soups if that makes sense.

Thanks, great ideas. I had prawns a couple of times this week too. But they'd be better on ryvitas or similar than on bread.
