Can jelly (jam not dessert) that has not set be reboiled?

Made bramble jelly. good colour and taste but more of a syrup than a jelly. i thought it had reached setting point and didn't want to overboil as I have made bramble toffee before. However, it is a bit thickened but not enough.
Already in jars but will pour out easy enough.

can I boil it again to reach setting point?

Yes, but before you do that chop up an apple or two and leave the pieces to go brown. Then tie them up in piece of muslin, cores, peel, and all, and chuck it into the jam. If you boil the apple bits with the jam you will increase the amount of pectin and the jam will set better.

Do you know how to test for setting?

If you're willing to strain the jelly again, then you don't need to bother with the muslin.

Yes. I use the plate test. but I rushed a bit.
I made bramble and crab apple yesterday.
I'll try throwing some apples in and reboiling tomorrow. Thanks.

I got up in the morning and it had set. the tests right after all. just wasn't giving it long enough to cool.
