In a fit of enthusiasm I bought one of these for DD's birthday cake this year.
Can anyone recommend a good sponge recipe for these? I wonder if a heavier madeira cake type mix will turn out better than a light sponge? Do I have to use that baking spray to help with unmoulding?
I also have a dream [hmmm] of dipping all the parts into icing (fondant fancy style) before decorating, but all the pictures I can find show just the plain cake with piped icing/sweets. Am I bonkers for even considering this?
