Have to really economise on what we eat as have become a single parent and not sure what money we will have.

I have a bread maker and would be prepared to use it to save miney but does it really when you have to buy special flour etc.

My breadmaker uses 1lb of flour to make a loaf - so about 40p worth of flour, plus cost of yeast, sugar, butter etc.

So I would say it's prob not any cheaper, but you do get nice bread.

I don't use my breadmaker very often because I am too lazy!

If you have a slow cooker you can make cheap meals by bunging in stewing steak (and other cheap cuts of meat) and veggies to make stews etc. Not very summery food though!

It isn;t cheaper if you eat cheap bread but if you want nice bread I would say it is. Depends on what you are making, if you are adding lots of seeds for example which would push the price up.

I would second the slow cooker as we use ours to make up big stews which I freeze in portions.

I also buy up BOGOF and freeze them to save money and if I ahve leftovers that are big enough for a portion I freeze them too. Instant home made ready meal.
