What can I do with a bottle of Baileys?

I've got an unopened bottle of Baileys that goes out of date this month. Any ideas about what I can do with it (other than drink it neat - 39w pg!). I seem to remember trying a homemade Baileys ice-cream once, but open to any suggestions! :)

there is a recipe for creme brulee made with it.... not sure which bok though.

You can pour it over ice-cream or hot pudding, just like custard - only for grown-ups!

You could save it to wet the baby's head with. In any case, these sell-by dates aren't set in stone, after all it will have been kept in a dark, cool cupboard I presume, plus of course there's all that lovely preservative alcohol in it, so it should be good for a while longer.

It won't go out of date for a loooong time.
This is just arbitrary food regulations.

someone told me just yesterday - put a banana in a bowl, slit it lengthways and pop in some squares of chocolate all down the middle of the banana - microwave for probably 30 secs to 1 minute, then drizzle baileys over the top...

haven't tried this myself yet as losing weight at present, and have just a teeeeeeeeeny inkling that this might be a tad calorific.

enjoy! Grin

Thanks for all of those ideas :) Hadn't even thought of trying the internet Blush The Bailey's website has loads of recipes, so think I'll have to try a few of those!

PrettyCandles - Would save it to wet the baby's head, but I'm planning to bf, so can't drink it in the quantities that I'd like to!

AT 39w pregnant, it's perfectly acceptable to drink it neat.

Had a fab Bailey's cheesecake once mind you.

popsycal · 19/06/2006 19:50

Little and often, Laura, little and often Wink

BettySpaghetti · 19/06/2006 20:01

Its lovely in hot chocolate (but probably the wrong season for it!)

Cappucino · 19/06/2006 20:18

gah, breastfeeding while sober is overrated

southeastastra · 19/06/2006 20:37

give it to the teacher as an end of term present?

Laura032004 · 20/06/2006 07:32

I know I could drink whilst pg/bf, but I can't in any quantities. I've been TTC, pg or bf continuously now since Dec 2002, and haven't really drunk anything during this time. Now just one unit is enough to make me feel v.tipsy and hungover the next day. I don't mind that once in a while, but I couldn't do it more than once a week. Goodness knows how I'm ever going to build up my tolerance again once I've finished bf this baby! I used to regularly share a bottle of vodka with a friend, and then go to work the next day Blush Shock

BettySpaghetti - I love M&S chocolate liqueur in hot chocolate!

yeah but baileys barely has any alcohol in it

it's only like milk

puff · 20/06/2006 09:31

pour it down the sink Grin

arfishymeau · 21/06/2006 05:44

Baileys and cointreau over ice. It's like liquid chocolate orange.
