URGENT ADVICE - In the middle of a recipe, how many desert spoons make a tabelspoon?

recipe says 3 x tablespoons I only have desert - please help!

Two level dessert spoons.

A dessert spoon is 10ml approx so I would say 4 1/2

ok there is conflicting evidence on google some say 1.5 desert spoons make 1 tablespoon some say 3 teaspoons make 1

Teaspoon should be roughly 5ml, dessert roughly 10ml and tablespoon roughly 15ml. So 3 tablespoons would be 9 teaspoons, or 4 and a half desserts.

4.5 desert spoons.

Teaspoon is 5 ml
Desert spoon is 10
Tablespoon is 15

You could use 9 teaspoons instead!

Tablespoon is 15ml, Dessertspoons I don't know but a teaspoon is 5ml so I would go 3 teaspoons if I had a measuring one or a kids medicine spoon OR a big round full as I can get it dessertspoon (depending on how accurate I think it needs to be)

ok Im going in with 9 teaspoons - it's coco powder so Im sure nothing can be "too chocolatey"!!

Can only go by how I cook,
2 tsp=1 dessert, 2 dessert= 1 tablespoon
4 tsp = 1 tablespoon.

clotted that isn't conflicting - that is correct! 3 teaspoons is a table spoon and 1.5 desert spoons is also a table spoon.

Does that make sense?

Sorry, adagio. I was answering the question how many dessert spoons make a tablespoon. 2 in my book.

Don't put sand in by mistake.

As an aside, I'd recommend investing in a set of measuring spoons - they aren't expensive, are more accurate than a spoon and also mine have the ml measurements printed on them. Very useful.

2 dessert spoons = 20ml whereas a tablespoon is only 15ml.

Unimportant for all bar baking powder/salt I imagine though.

DS is an Aspie and loves the clarity of cooking with the ease of the colours, instead of faffing around with different sized spoons. We've got measuring cups in a similar vein.
But I may well have been wrong all these years with my measurements, I've always been a handful/pinch/slug, taste it and see sort of cook.

Ahh SilverApples you see I read your response and thought how can 2 tablespoons = 3 tablespoons?but you meant 1 tablespoon = 2 dessert spoons.

To compound my idiocy I then went on to answer in exactly the same way as in x=1 tablespoon (not the three the OP needs)
