I'm looking for some nice ME recipes, for all courses. Can be very spicy or subtle, we eat anything (not including meat or dairy obviously) but we do like to try new things and I'm running out of nice ideas, I do have loads of different spices :) Thank you

This Ottolenghi recipe is lovely - my idea of comfort food.

The cookbook Veggiestan looks great, it's been in my amazon wish list all year. Not vegan, but lots of the recipes don't include dairy. Might be worth a look?

Ottolenghi generally is great for vegan food. I made their bretroot salad at the weekend - roast beetroot, lightly steamed leeks, pine nuts (the recipie said walnuts but I forgot to buy them) and the dressing was raw garlic, oil, tiny bit of vinegar, seasoning and tamarind paste. It was amazing!

I also make their spiced chickpeas a lot, basically chickpeas cooked or from a tin, rinsed so they're damp. Then put all your favourite spices on a plate and roll the chickpeas in them. Fry off in a little olive oil. They suggest then mixing them with chopped salad but I like them as they are.

You can get a copy of Linda Majzlik's a vegan taste of the Middle East from Amazon for a couple of quid.
It's a cracking book.

She also does a vegan taste of India, Africa, the Caribean , mexico, Greece, Thailand etc.

Well worth a look.
Or go on to the Vegan Society. They have loads of recipes.

WOW thank you, I was away yesterday and didn't get a chance to come back to the thread. I have made the Yotam Ottolenghi's mejadra recipe and it is lovely so will probably include that, although mine doesn't look as good as his!
