How to cool down a curry???

That's it basically.

It's too hot and DS is saying it will blow his head off.

I have Greek yogurt - if I add that to it will it curdle or will it
dilute the blow your head off heat???

You can add yoghurt, but unsure if Greek yoghurt would be ok, I usually use plain yoghurt.

ems1910 · 27/08/2013 17:31

I've heard lemon juice before but not sure that's correct lol

I once used mayo in a similar tight spot (guests for a meal - off the scale heat on the curry because I misread a quantity! - no other options for a fix).
It worked.

Greek yoghurt should be fine - don't heat it up, that's what will make it curdle.

YoniMatopoeia · 27/08/2013 17:34

I have added Greek yogurt before and it was fine. Also ground almonds, if it is the right sort of curry

Madamecastafiore · 27/08/2013 17:36

Oooohhhh will make the curry piping hot and then add the yogurt.

If that doesn't work will attack it with some lemon and sugar and see where we go from there.

Beans on toast may be the back up plan!!

THANK YOU

I've heard that raw potatoes can draw out the heat?! No idea if it works though!

RememberingMyPFEs · 27/08/2013 17:37

Sugar or honey - the sweetness mellows the spiciness

Tried yogurt. I hated the taste but DS lapped his up. So thanks guys.

Disclaimer: I hate most food at present so would have hated it without the yogurt!
