Has anyone got a soft chocolate chip cookie recipe?

I've tried a variety but the dcs reject them if they don't taste just like the chewy shop bought ones. I've started buying jus roll cookie dough to bake at home for treats ( cheaper than buying the individual ones in the shops) but would like to make my own.

125g butter
125g soft brown sugar
200g self raising flour
1 egg
150g of chopped chocolate
1 tsp vanilla extract

I just mix it all up, pop spoonfuls on a greased baking tray and squash them a bit and bake at 190C for 10-15 mins. It's important not to overbake them or they'll be hard.

They're lovely and you can replace some of the flour with cocoa powder if you like or use nuts as well as chocolate etc.

The Mary berry one. Mega chop chip or similar

If it's that Millie's Cookies texture you want - a bit of a crunch but mostly chewy, then my exhaustive years of research have left me with the poisoned dwarf himself, Anthony Worrall Thompson. Watch them like a hawk, though - they go from not cooked to burnt in moments.

this one is good. In fact I've made some this morning and I just chuck in whatever chocolate/sweets I've got around. Today's have mini marshmallows, mini crunchie pieces and a Easter egg....

yy to Mary Berry, the one with condensed milk in it. Really easy to make, and lovely chewy cookies.

I use one on joy of baking.com, I always cut the sugar down by about 1/4!! TBH you could cut the chocolate chips too without anyone thinking you were being tight.
if you keep to a really short cooking time they can be really soft
I think that's the secret for me and my oven - a really short cooking time
