What to pack for my 8 month old

My DD is starting nursery soon, one day a week. What should I pack for her lunch / snacks? At home she has home made meals batch cooked and frozen but guess it should be more finger food for nursery so she can feed herself. Also roughly how much should she be having?

Sorry for the stupid questions but no idea if I'm giving the right things/ amounts.

My 8mo has sandwiches or a wrap. Watch out for salt content of bread, I tend to make mine for this reason. Wraps aren't as bad. Mine will eat a two slice/one wrap sandwich, although she is a bit of a piglet! Fillings are soft cheese, houmous and grated carrot, cheese, occasionally tuna. Then fruit/ tomato/cucumber.

Thanks fruit (love the name!) that's about what I imagined. Feel better I'm on the right track!

How about slices of omelette or could she manage with pasta salad? There are some good suggestions on MN too Smile

As for quantities, my 6yo has a small wrap or one or two rounds of bread sandwich. I also try to put some fruit and veg in the box too.

I guess they are all different and have different appetites. How about giving her packed lunch style lunches for a while at home so that you get an idea of how much you need to pack?

Our nursery warmed up meals so I often sent in homemade soup. Otherwise cheese sandwiches, pesto pasta with cannellini beans, egg mayo wraps etc plus veg sticks and fruit or a small tub of yoghurt.
