I can't decide what takes up less space, plastic trays or pour'n'store bags?

I found the best tip ever on a wonderful food blog called Dinner: A Love Story (it's American so measures have to be adapted but fab recipes). Use plastic bags and press them flat so that the food inside defrosts really quickly, and you can stack them in your freezer either horizontally or like books on a shelf. Works just as well for pasta sauces etc as for soup. This has completely changed my life!!
Hope that helps.

I use the plastic Chinese boxes about 10p in Asian supermarket, I reuse them. At the beginning of the month I have on average 60-70 boxes in the freezer for the month ahead, we all take soup for lunch on week days. They stack well and I can see what soup is in each box :)
