I have about 4 bananas, 6 nectarines and 6 apricots all about to go off.
Any suggestions what I could do with them?

Fling them in a blender with milk and make smoothies. Or just use the bananas for smooties and make a crumble with the other fruit.

You could make clafouti with the nectarines and apricots? It's a sort of baked custard thing, v. french.

Banana bread with the bananas.

banana muffins with the bananas (can post recipe if interested)

fruit salad or fruit jelly for kids with nectarines and apricots

am shocked you have fruit left .. we can't seem to ever keep the fruit bowl full and I buy tonnes

We got the fruit from an organic place on Wed and its going off really quickly.

Thanks for the ideas

I'm interested in the clafouti as I've never heard of it. Can you post a recipe please?

10 oz s/r flour (if using plain add 3 tsp baking powder)
1 tsp bicarb of soda
1/2 tsp salt
4 oz sugar (granulated fine)
3 oz plain chocolate chips (optional)

mix in a bowl

in another bowl put bananas and mush with a potato masher
add 3 fl oz milk
3 fl oz oil (or melted butter)
1 beaten egg
vanilla essence (optional)

mix together

wet into dry and mix until all flour mixed in (don't overstir)

into muffin cases (makes about 12) .. into pre-heated oven for 20 minutes (at 180)

\link{http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,1977,FOOD_9936_11609,00.html\Here} is a recipe in English, for apricot clafouti. You could use nectarines as well, though.

It's quite a rich dessert, what with all the eggs. Very tasty though. I generally make it with plums. The traditional French thing is cherry clafouti, but I could never be bothered with stoning cherries when I could be eating them.

ah but you see NotQuiteCockney, you shouldn't stone the cherries for a clafouti, so that they retain their juice. much nicer if messier to eat!
