when it gets to the day i have to order the shopping i dread it! its nothing but stress trying to work out what to cook and who for!

my 11yo will eat the fridge he's no trouble.
my 8yo is fussy, doesnt like much and eats little.

my 3yo ...well im surprised she hasnt wasted away. she wont eat potato wether its mash, chips, waffle, roasted, smiley faces! wont even try rice Sad just spits it out. not too keen on mince but will eat a few spoonfuls, dont eat beans..

only since jan time she has eaten a little bit of bread, before she wouldnt eat no dough type food. tried crumpets, toast, sandwhich, pitta. had a break through with wraps. so she will eat cheese and ham wrap for lunch most days.

wont eat burgers, eatrs only the batter on dippers! wont eat sausages!

she will eat the top of a pizza and loves chicken pies.

she eats fruits, loves grapes but they give her diarhea.

theres loads more that she will/ wont eat and it makes life so hard Sad i hate giving her 'just chicken pie' for dinner. the thing is she wants to eat cereal at silly o'clock at night where she hasnt eaten?!

so, how do other deal with fussy eaters? what do you do/cook? i did buy my child wont eat book but cant find it since i moved home.

i do serve her the food, dont make a fuss if she plays up. and when she says she's finished i try not to seem bothered she hasnt touched it Sad

Room for another desperate soul? [plonks self down next to mouses]

DS will eat potato, and plain pasta, --and Sunday roast when the stars are in alignment- but pretty much bugger all else. Oh, he likes crackers. Sad Jealous that yours will eat chicken pie as I love them, and DS won't touch them.

Have you tried making sauce for topping pizza by roasting veg and whizzing it up with tomato and onion? I rmember when I wasn't going to hide veg, because it means children think it's bad as it has to be hidden. That lasted 3 years then.....

I've just gradually got used to it to be honest, it is still stressful and frustrating but we just work round it, very hard sometimes. DS won't eat potatoes in any shape or form, sausages, eggs, anything in batter or breadcrumbs, any sandwich filling except tuna (grudgingly) or marmite, any pizza topping except peppers, most veg. DD won't eat couscous or noodles. They both love pasta and so do I. Guess what DH doesn't like. Pasta. We have a lot of mix and match meals, I buy cold chicken and ham and put them out alongside the main for whoever doesn't like the main meal, bread for anyone who doesn't like the carb of the day, a mix of veg with something everyone will like. Luckily DS loves tomato pasta sauce, I get a lot of hidden veg into him that way. I was another who wasn't going to do that (haha). He is 9 BTW, and has AS, which may account for some of it. It is going to be a problem for him eating at other people's houses when he is older and you look rude if you don't eat anything. He does take to new things occasionally and really wants to change, but it is a slow process. You are not alone!

does feel like an endless battle, i know im not alone.

with pizza toppings its the pepper, peperoni etc that she will eat and not the sauce.

its sad that i can (use to) cook everything from scratch but cos the kids are fussy it puts me off trying half the time as it jus goes in the bin!

ive tried home made everything with no luck! she will eat macaroni cheese out of a tin but not home made?!!

I feel your pain.

Dd1 is going to be 4 soon, and it's a battle to even get her to try anything.
We BLW, and gave her everything as a baby, and would eat absolutely everything. She got her first tooth at 13mo, and she just would not eat anything after that :(

Does that book work at all? All it's techniques?

Would love to know if it did, as I'd buy it.

Dd hates all veg, but does eat various fruits. She won't touch pasta, or potatoes or rice. She will eat pomme noisettes balls, potato croquettes, and occasionally chips.

Weirdly, she hates things like Haribo, jelly, sweets.

She will eat cereal, milk, yogurt and cheese til the cows come home.

to be honest i flicked through the book, didnt read cover to cover. what i remember is it saying not to fuss too much as they can act on it...or something along those lines. worth getting, not not too costly.

my DD started being fussy not long after being on solids. i dont know how she has sooo much energy on little fuel!
