Freezing Baby Food

I have just started weaning this week and have made my first batch of carrot & sweet potato in ice cube tray for freezer.
Question is, If I'm buying organic fruit and veg, using a steamer and spending time making sure that DS has a healthy diet, is freezing the excess defeating the purpose? I've read online that there is no evidence to back this up although in my Harold Mgees Food Book he seems to think so.

Any ideas? Anyone cook fresh everyday? Opinions pls x

Life is too short to cook fresh everyday.

I did and still do cook organic stuff for my dd's. When I was weaning dd1, I used to freeze in ice cube trays and then put the cubes in a bag, so could mix and match carrot, parsnip and sweet potato etc. (Mind you once the labels came off and dd1 had sweetpotato and pear - oops - she liked it anyway!) Wink

Eventually, I used to freeze larger portions in little pots.

Life is a lot easier to cook in batches - I do now that dd1 is 19 months - I have 5 portions of Nursery Fish pie ala Annabel Karmel in my freezer as I type. Smile
