Eat them cold?!

We rarely have left over roasties here :)

InNeedOfBrandy · 24/03/2013 19:46

potato salad might work?

notapizzaeater · 24/03/2013 19:46

Freeze in foil trays for a quick tea ? Bubble and squeak ?

orderinformation · 24/03/2013 19:47

Roast. Not toast. Oops.

I was surprised but had made loads. Not so keen on them cold though.

We've never had left over roast potatoes here!

Potato salad would work though

StarlightMcKenzie · 24/03/2013 19:47

pour on bravas sauce for the next day.

orderinformation · 24/03/2013 19:47

Oh bravas sauce yum. How would I make that?

How do you make bubble and squeak?

SanityClause · 24/03/2013 19:49

I would never eat them straight out of the fridge, with lots of salt. Absolutely not! Shock

auforfoulkesake · 24/03/2013 19:49

cold, mmm
or just add to anything.

ivykaty44 · 24/03/2013 19:49

slice and fry with a littel oil and garlic and serve with cold meat

or mash into bubble and squeek

auforfoulkesake · 24/03/2013 19:50

bubble and squeak is left over cabbage fried with left over potato, a rarity to have left overs in this house, but it is delicious, particularly with a fried egg

out2lunch · 24/03/2013 19:51

put cheese on top and melt in microwave - yummy

MotherOfNations · 24/03/2013 19:53

I don't mind them cold dipped in mayonnaise. Indians do a roast potato curry that is lovely.

ThePskettiIncident · 24/03/2013 19:54

Eat them cold with salad cream!

mrsvilliers · 24/03/2013 19:54

I've got a bravas sauce here www.toddler-recipes.co.uk/patatas-bravas.html It's easy and tasty.

SergeantSnarky · 24/03/2013 19:57

spanish omelette

HazeltheMcWitch · 24/03/2013 19:59

Eat them in a sandwich.
Or a roll.

HappyJustToBe · 24/03/2013 20:00

Me neither, Sanity. Would be a terrible thing to do.

RandallPinkFloyd · 24/03/2013 20:06

Why on earth would that issue ever arise?
Are you one of those weirdos who has left over wine too?

Can I come round for tea, that'll get rid of the problem for you Grin

spilttheteaagain · 24/03/2013 22:28

Slice and fry in butter til golden and have with fried eggs. Mmm, dippy yolk and crispy potatoes!

Trills · 24/03/2013 22:32

I think now you've written "toast potatoes" you have to eat them on toast.

It's the law.

JamNan · 25/03/2013 14:47

Bubble 'n squeak with a fried egg on top.

Or fry up with bacon/pancetta, garlic, caraway seeds and savoy cabbage. You could swap the caraway seeds for walnuts. A dollop of brown sauce won't go amiss.

Steam some kale, then fry with pots, garlic. Add walnut sized sausage-meat balls with chopped up prunes. Little bit of apple sauce maybe?

Patatos bravos with chorizo in a garlic and tomato sauce.

Eat them cold, on their own (but dip in salt first).

magimedi · 25/03/2013 14:52

What ever you do do not add them to soup! I quite often make what I call 'scrap soup' which is usually onions, any older odd carrots or other veg & cooked veg leftovers. Has always been fine until the time I added left over roasties - really weird taste of roast dinner that soup had!

wheredidiputit · 25/03/2013 15:00

I freeze them to use in the week for a quick roast dinner for the DC during the week.

orderinformation · 25/03/2013 17:43

I like Trills idea.
