Just cleared out the veg rack and found one Blush that must be 2 months old. It is still completely hard. Ok to cook or not?

I would say yes! They keep for a surprisingly long time. You will be able to tell when you cut it open.

Cut it open and smell it. If it's smells nice and squashy then I'd eat it. If it smells horrible and garbagy then I wouldn't.

people always used to store pumpkins and squashes over winter in their sheds/garages etc in 'olden times' (!) so should be fine. Just smell it when you cut it open and if the flesh is firm and the seeds not mushy then should be good to go!

If it hasn't been cut (or bruised) then it should be fine. They go off pretty quickly if you cut them open and only use part, though.

YY to exexpat. Have used one that had been in the veg rack (which is in a lean to exposed to outside as door is broken) - for at least three months.

The half one in the fridge covered in clingfilm had gone gross within three days though.
