I'm on a very tight budget this week. I usually use Sainsburys (budget range), but the fruit and veg there is expensive.

Which do you think is the cheapest?

asda works out cheapest for me...also value range.

wrt to fruit...would tinned do for the week and say seven.pieces by weight (one per day)?

if there's a local market near you it might be worth going there for fruit/veg/salad...i spent 8quid yesterday on 2boxes each.of blueberries, strawbs.and rasps, big bunch grapes, basic salad, onions, mush and carrotts. and a bag of about eight apples Smile

and value frozen mixed veg? that way you get a bit of everything and a bag ought to last a week

I think aldi is very cheap, 3 courgettes for 89p, it's about £1 more in sainsburys.

Sainsburys basics potatoes are cheaper but if its that bad I use tinned pots instead.

Aldi and Asda, I usually split my shopping between these 2. I do the Asda price check which compares it to the others (not Aldi) and it generally is always cheaper.

Lidl is my nearest for cheap veg, or the Mediterranean food centres on our bit of London are worth checking out.

I'm an Asda & Aldi mummy too. Aldi's Super Six fruit and vegetables are always great. Usually priced between 39p and 69p per item depending on what they're offering. Smile Smile

If you want cheap fruit and veg, the market is the best place.

Otherwise, Aldi.

Lidl or the market for me. Actually Lidl is usually cheaper than out market but I did get a big bunch of bananas of the market for 50p yesterday.
