i have half a packet in the fridge that i hadn't planned anything for....seems a shame to waste so much so do you think it'll freeze ok?

will only be used for pizza topping at some point so can't see how it defrosts being a problem if it goes a bit mushy or anything Smile

Yes you can freeze salami. I've got about eight lots bagged up in there, bought when it had been knocked down to 9p per 100g five minutes before closing time. Defrost overnight and it's fine for lunchbox sandwiches.

I do it all the time, pepperoni and chorizo too. It's always handy to have in to make pizza, it's defrosted by the time you've made the dough!

Why freeze? It keeps forever. You can use it as a base for pasta sauce or fried up with onions and vegetables and added to beans.

Lucy, weren't you the poster that started really getting into cooking a few years ago?

MousyMouse · 19/02/2013 19:21

the sealed ones freeze fine, the open ones can get a bit dry (will still be fine for a pizza).
