Organising my food cupboards esp baking goods...

Need to get sorted, I cook a lot from scratch so have loads of odds and ends of seeds, dried fruits, different sugars, different flours/bread mixes etc. Would love to be able to get them sorted so I can fetch what I need without sustaining a head injury - and not have so many half-open packets of the same things. Quite fancy different sized jars, but would need a way to put more shelves in the cupboard I think. Anyone know of any nice but not too expensive jars? Or shelf separators? Or a brilliant scheme to keep it all sorted?

I used to do jars then found you never had the right size, it took up too much room, and I still had to go through lots of jars to find what I needed. Now I tend to go for big snap-lock tupperwares, and put bags of all related things inside. So one will have nuts and fruit, one has lentils, dried beans etc., one has pastas etc., one has baking powder, etc. I only have to get one tub out to see if I already have something open and they stack together neatly. The only things I actually decant are flour, and sugar as I use enough of one type.

I do similar. I measured the height and depth of the shoes and tracked down Tupperware containers that fit neatly, though I don't use the lids. So all the dried fruit / baking powder type stuff / sugars have their own container I just lift out the cupboard to find what I need.

And herbs and spices too, that works particularly well.

Ok, good ideas, thanks. Just not having to lift and drop loads of stuff would be great!!

I have all my flours in cereal Tupperware boxes , sugars in glass jars and then I use these for all the other packets.www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/60182196/#/30155019 I have one for dried fruit, one for nuts, one for seeds and then one for other baking ingredients such as baking powder, yeast and bicarb.

I knew Ikea would have answers - but there isn't one within 1.5 hours drive sadly!
