Can you freeze home made smoothies made with fruit and milk to make lollies?

I'm a mean old mummy and am in constant combat with the ice cream man who has obviously heard about pester power (and always turns up at tea time and bed timeAngry)

The children are ok with a home made lolly just to have in the garden and think they're fun to make. I was wondering if we could vary it a bit with a creamy one made with a milky fruit smoothie. What do you think? Can you freeze something like that?

Of course you can. You can freeze fruity yoghurt as well to make a creamy lolly.

If you feel really adventurous you can freeze in layers as well - fill mould 1/3 full with juice and freeze, then top up to 2/3 with yoghurt and freeze, then fill up with more juice. They might get a bit impatient waiting to add more layers but they're fun.

you need to add a bit of sugar or better still sugar syrup made by boiling sugar and water so that it does't freeze rock hard and have too many ice crystals

Wow I'm inspired now! Thanks everyoneSmile
