What food can I freeze?

I'm living in the middle of nowhere a very rural area with one small shop nearby. It's fine for essentials like sugar or milk but forget about getting something so sophisticated as cucumber and sometimes they run out of potatoes or carrots.

I either do shopping online and get it delivered or go to bigger town.Last night I was coming back late so popped to the shop to see if they had any "use by today" bargains.Bought a few peppers and garlic.I'm not going to freeze garlic, but what about peppers?Never froze them before.

I thought about freezing the vegetables that are not widely available frozen (e.g sweetcor, peas)and I'm struggling to get fresh even in bigger supermarket.Has any of you tried freezing beetroots or celeriac?

What about freezing stuff for your convenience like chopped mushrooms or onions?I'm also a veg grower (currently on hold)and if I ever have a glut of anything I would like to make a use of it rather than enriching my compost bin.

Dairy-I freeze butter,is cream freezable?Fresh is not available in the local shop and I'm not too keen on long life one.

Any other things that I could (chop and) freeze?

you can freeze pretty much anything, but some things are not as nice defrosted and eaten "raw", tomatoes & strawberries for example turn wet and tasteless - but good to use in a tomato sauce or a milkshake.

wouldn't do cucumber or lettuce, unless you want to use it in a soup/sauce.

you can parboil/steam/roast most veg (inc potatoes & peppers), then freeze.
fruits can be pre-treated the same way, or frozen raw.
I'm surprised you can't find frozen peas or sweetcorn, we live on these, and sliced green beans & broccoli!
we also buy tin sweetcorn.

cook batches of soups, stews etc and then you have home made frozen ready meals.

grated cheese in portions, chopped onions & mushrooms, pureed bananas freeze well, as do partially whipped cream (whipping or double cream) and milk.
not sure about single cream, why don't you experiment?
I'm currently freezing some gingerbread biscuit dough to see what happens.

ice cube trays - fill with pureed garlic or chopped herbs then top with a bit of water

sliced lemons & oranges are brilliant to pop in your tea or water or soft/alcoholic drinks

butternut squash keeps for a long time in a cool place

not sure about how long frozen goods are good for, so do check your freezer's manual
