Are your food cupboards always generally "full" or do you run them down each week?

My cupboard is always generally full as I shop a few times in the week.

In some ways I wish I just bought what I needed, had empty cupboards at end of week. Then went and re-stocked for next week.

I really do buy too much Blush

Mine are always full of tins/packets/rice/noodles/pasta.
As I use those I tend to rebuy them.
I use those toward the end of the week as the fresh stuffs ran out.

Tend to keep a low stock of basics like baking stuff, dried pasta and rice, tins of soup and pasta sauces, tuna, tinned fruit, tomatoes etc Replenish what we use and restock fridge, veg rack, fruit bowl each week

Cupboard is generally full of dry stuff but fridge is empty by Sunday night ... I try to plan meals and go shopping on Mondays ... fill fridge with fresh stuff. I usually have to restock bread, milk and fruit half way through the week. We get through a lot of fruit and I don't like to put it in the fridge as it isn't good for it ...

Generally full, the only time we ran it down was when we moved house and that took a month to do and a whole load of will power not to buy anything new!

Why not have a few evenings where you have a store cupboard night- you could pretend you are on ready steady cook! Grin

I'd like to be able to run cupboards bare but I can't help myself. I always wonder what if?

Mine are always full, so is my freezer. Dh laughs at me, he says I have a siege mentality. I feel a bit panicky if my larder is not well-stocked though Grin

Ghosty - just ditto your message in its entirety!

Cupboard always fullish of long-term stuff like flour, pasta, rice etc that comes in >1 portion quantities, replaced only when runs out.
Fridge, however, is always empty just before the once-a-week supermarket shop.

Thinking about it, we only really buy fresh stuff so there's not much 'meal' food in the cupboards, just 'ingredient' stuff.
We do meal-plan pretty hard though, and only occasionally have to do a midweek topup for bread and/or milk.

Also take leftovers to work for lunch (handy microwave), and have Leftover Night so nothing that's been cooked gets wasted. If plans change so we don't eat one of the planned meals, the ingredients get frozen so it comes round next week.

Takes organisation (mostly from DH admittedly) but seems to work most of the time.

Everything is full! I have about 3 bottles each of bleach, fab con, jif, loo cleaner etc
About 6+ tins each of soups, toms, spaghetti,
at least 3000 pasta sauces...

I like well stocked cupboards Grin for example,
When I empty a bag of pasta into the jar, I replace the bag of pasta and I do that with stuff like coffee, biscuits etc

I have an extra freezer in the garage full of back up stuff too

Infact, now I have written it down, I suddenly fear for my mental health Wink

Have loads of dried foods and tins in cupboards. But all perishables in fridge should be run down by end of week. Do only one big weekly shop with shopping list.
